She teaches that sleep is a Super Power and is the key to unlocking a fulfilled life. Dr. Beth Sherer, Owner Back on Track Chiropractor and Wellness Center,
Dr. Sherer is qualified as a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.), licensed by the State and who practices chiropractic medicine -that discipline within the healing arts which deals with the nervous system and its relationship to the spinal column and its interrelationship with other body systems.                                                                               

Everything You Ever Wanted to Know about Acupuncture and Was Afraid to Ask!

 Objectives: At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will have knowledge of:                                                                                            **The benefits of acupuncture  **Nutrition and Acupuncture                                                                                                                             Joanne Requijo, MS, LPC, NCC,  West Neuropsychology LLC, has a Master of Science in Counseling and Psychology with a focus on Clinical Mental Health. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Alabama and Georgia, and is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC). With over 15 years' experience in mental health, Requijo has worked in several hospitals and private practices doing individual, marriage, couples and group therapy, working with children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics, as well as substance abuse patients. She has also worked with active duty soldiers while volunteering with the American Red Cross at Fort Rucker, AL as a DOD provider treating individuals with PTSD, depression, anxiety, marriage and family counseling. 
 How Depression Affects the Brain and Is It Reversible?                                                                                                                       Objectives: At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will have knowledge of:**Causes of Major Depression Disorder (MDD) **Causes of MDD, **Treatments of reversal of MDD **Treatments: Natural and medical and pathways to wholeness from MDD.                   Lance Mailloux, RN, CWOCN, graduate of UAB School of Nursing and attended Emory University’s Wound Ostomy Certification program. He is currently employed at UAB providing consult services for all aspect of wound care. Lance has extensive supervisory experience in long term care and rehabilitation nursing. Currently ACLS and BLS certified.                                                                                                                               One Wrinkle at a time …Geriatric Skin Care and Pressure Ulcer Prevention                                                                                      Objectives: At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will have knowledge of: **Describe age related changes in elderly skin ** Describe pressure injuries using the NPUAP staging system ** Describe skin tears using the ISTAP ** Identify practices to prevent pressure injuries and skin tears ** Identify strategies for the management of pressure injuries and skin tairs.                                                                           Nancy McCracken, MPT, PT, graduate of UAB, previous clinical educator coordinator of inpatient, outpatient, and vocational rehabilitation settings, where she has worked at Encompass Health Lakeshore Rehabilitation Hospital since 1989 and currently work in the outpatient clinic where she treats a wide variety of patients, including lymphedema, neurologically involved conditions, including orthopedic, amputee and debility. She was certified by the Lymphology Association of North America (LANA) in 2003.                                                                             What Lymphedema?                                                                                                                                                                                Objectives: At the conclusion of this presentation participants will have knowledge of: **An entry level working knowledge of lymphedema **Understanding treatment options for management of lymphedema **Understanding the impact of edema management on general health and mobility **to motivate and increase fitness knowledge **Knowledge of resources for referral for treatment, further information, and peer support.   
Gabrielle Metz, MSW, LICSW, Psychotherapist PTSD Team at the Birmingham Veterans Medical Center.  
She earned her Bachelor’s in Social Work at the University of Montevallo and her Master’s in Social Work at University of Alabama.  She previously worked at CIFS as a clinical social worker in counseling, case management and caregiver support.                                                                                                           Health and Wellness                                                                                                                                                                               Objectives: At the conclusion of this presentation participants will have knowledge of: **An understanding  of the importance  of: sleep, diet, exercise, mental stamina, prioritizing, and maintaining a healthy body to function on a daily basis at home and at work.
