SPEAKERS AND OBJECTIVES
Bradford A. Woodworth, MD, FACS, James J. Hicks Professor of Otolaryngology, Residency Program Director, University of Alabama at Birmingham & Associate Scientist, Gregory Fleming James Cystic Fibrosis Research Center. Dr. Woodworth earned his Doctorate in Medicine from Tulane University, Residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Medical University of South Carolina and his Fellowship in Rhinology at University of Pennsylvania. He has lectured on endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery at numerous national and international venues, published over 130 journal articles and 30 text book chapters, and is the editor of two Rhinology textbooks. He and his mentored students/residents have also been awarded numerous regional, national, and international honors including the Edmund Prince Fowler Award from the Triological Society for best thesis, the American Rhinologic Society Young Physician Scientist Award and Cottle Award, as well as the American Academy of Otolaryngology Medical Award. Sahil P. Attawala, MD, earned his Medical Degree at Michigan State University, Residency (Chief Resident), Fellowship (Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology at Washington University in St. Louis Barnes-Jewish Hospital. He is a Cardiologist in Cardiac Electrophysiology at Princeton Heart Services. Robert Matthew (Matt) Talley, JD, LCSW, Attorney at Law, earned his Juris Doctorate in Probate and Family Law, Masters of Science in Social Work, and Bachelor of Psychology at University of Alabama. He is a Licensed Certified Social Worker. Matt has membership with Alabama and Birmingham Bar Associations. He practices in Jefferson, Shelby, and St. Clair counties. His specialty is serving the elderly and mentally ill adult and geriatric populations. He serves as Program Coordinator of Mental Health Services, working with mentally ill adult and geriatric clients. Cynthia Watts, BA, Owner, Watts Management Solutions, Certified Life and Work Coach, is a graduate of Samford University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources. Cynthia is a Life and Work Coach. Cynthia’s management and leadership skills were very apparent as Integration Manager at Medworksrx (Pharmacy Company, where she implemented process to start, manage, and grow outpatient pharmacies in a managed or co-owned setting, including providing bedside delivery of medications to patients; Performance Improvement Analyst at Baptist Health Systems, where she received, processed, and analyzed data from 12 resources for Quality Dashboards used for Performance Improvement, Facility Review, Administration and Medical Staff; Director of Quality Management/Performance Improvement at Haven Hospital in Gainesville, Florida and Director of Quality and Risk Management, where she won Corporate Quality Awards, 1st and 2nd Place at Dialysis Clinic, Inc. in Albany, Georgia. Jessica Mays, MSW, LCSW, PIP, QCSW, is a Clinical Social Worker for Compassus Hospice Care, where she completes psychosocial assessments, provides counseling and support to patients and families. Previous experience includes Director of Community Education for Geriatric Behavior Health at Baptist Princeton Medical Center and Clinical Social Worker, where she trained staff regionally for Horizon Health. She is a member of the National Ethics Committee where she aids in education for the Core Team. Jessica provides educational to staff as well as the public. Jessica earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Congregational Studies at Samford University and a Masters in Social Work at University of Alabama. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, and has certifications as Qualified Clinical Social Worker (QCSW) and in Private Independent Practice (PIP). Kathryn Fields, RN, Bariatric Manager at Baptist Princeton Health System, maintains a full service bariatric clinic that demonstrates the necessary elements for accreditation as a Level 1 Accredited Bariatric Center by the ACS.
